Dog Gone Trouble Cast: A Ruffly Good Time
Dog Gone Trouble, the animated film released in 2021, features a charming cast that brings its furry and human characters to life. While the storyline might be geared towards a younger audience, the vocal performances provide plenty of entertainment for viewers of all ages.
The titular “Trouble,” a pampered Great Dane, is voiced by Sean “Big Sean” Anderson. Big Sean, primarily known as a rapper, lends his signature cool and smooth voice to the character, capturing Trouble’s initial naivete and eventual growth as he learns to navigate the world outside his lavish mansion. His comedic timing adds a playful layer to Trouble’s fish-out-of-water experience.
Alongside Trouble are a diverse cast of animal companions. Pamela Adlon, known for her role in “Better Things,” voices Claire, a sassy and street-smart terrier. Adlon injects Claire with a healthy dose of cynicism and practicality, making her a strong and independent character. Her interactions with Trouble are often humorous, showcasing a classic odd-couple dynamic.
Lucy Hale, of “Pretty Little Liars” fame, voices Zoe Bell, the pizza delivery girl who befriends Trouble. Hale brings a warmth and genuine kindness to Zoe, portraying her as a responsible and caring individual who sees beyond Trouble’s privileged background. Zoe serves as a bridge between Trouble and the human world, helping him adapt and find his place.
The cast also includes Kevin Chamberlin as Norm, a food-obsessed pug, and Joel McHale as Mr. Bell, Zoe’s father. Chamberlin adds a touch of silliness and levity to the film, while McHale provides a grounded presence as the protective father figure.
Rounding out the ensemble are Marissa Jaret Winokur and Carlos PenaVega, voicing Gizmo and Tippy, respectively. These two characters, a hyperactive monkey and a quirky toucan, add to the film’s comedic flair and provide energetic support to Trouble’s adventures.
While Dog Gone Trouble may not be a cinematic masterpiece, the voice acting from its cast is undoubtedly a highlight. The actors bring personality and charm to their respective roles, creating a collection of memorable characters that resonate with audiences. Big Sean’s unexpected casting as Trouble proves to be a surprisingly successful choice, and the supporting cast elevates the film with their comedic talents and heartfelt performances. The voice cast makes it a worthwhile watch for families and animation enthusiasts.
